Welcome to the website for this unique home building and teaching project. High school students in the Weitz Academy of Construction at Seminole Ridge High School are taught about construction techniques in all trades as they build a real house for Habitat for Humanity in the school’s shop. At the same time, it allows them to give back to their community. This is the eighth house to be built for Habitat by the Academy.
With the start of House #4, the Academy began a partnership with the University of South Florida OSHA Training Institute and Education Center (USFOTI). They will be providing their OSHA advanced construction safety training certification for all of the Academy’s students (see more under the “Teaching, Mentoring, Support” link at the top of the page).
